Germplasm Resources Investigation and Analysis of Representative Germplasm Characteristics of Chi-Nan Agarwood in China

Agarwood germplasm of Chi-Nan, which emerged in recent years, has attracted much attention from the society.In order to have a deeper understanding of this kind of germplasm, the research group carried out a resource survey of this kind of germplasm in 2020.The research team investigated and collected the mainstream Chi-Nan agarwood information in the current market by visiting the plantations of germplasm in Guangdong and Hainan.The results showed that germplasm of Chi-Nan was a general name of a kind of agarwood germplasm, and 66 germplasm named by local farm on the market according to the characteristics of each germplasm were sorted out, which were divided into 7 categories according to the naming method, and they were roughly divided into three grades according to their fragrant performance.Agarwood germplasm of Chi-Nan cultivation showed the characteristics of expansion from one center (Dianbai District, Maoming city, Guangdong Province) to neighboring provinces (Guangdong, Guangxi, Hainan, Yunnan, Fujian).The morphological characteristics of plant type, leaf shape and fruit shape of the four germplasm were different.The four germplasm of Chi-Nan had high agarwood-forming ability, high oil content, high density, bitter taste and mild spicy taste.This survey investigated the varieties, planting conditions, morphological characteristics, agarwood-forming ability and industrial development of Chi-Nan germplasm, and put forward the existing problems and suggestions for sustainable development of Chi-Nan agarwood germplasm industry.It can provide reference for the further development of agarwood industry.
