Abstract
Using the hundred-scale evaluation system, With the overall posture(plant type, crown type), flower aesthetic perception(flower type, petal number, flower quantity and color)and leaf aesthetic perception as the ornamental indexes, and with the growth potential, fecundity, transplanting difficulty, and resistance (cold resistance, disease resistance and insect resistance) as adaptability indexes, the ornamental and adaptability of the 9 kinds of adult trees of Camellia nitidissima C.W.Chi introduced and planted in Fujian Quanzhou Botanical Garden were comprehensively evaluated in 2015.The results indicated that the best overall merit was Camellia crysantha (97 points), followed by C.fusuiensis S.Y.Liang et X.J.Dong(86 points), C.tunghinensis Chang (82 points). Then there were C.impressinervis H.T.Chang et S.Y.Liang (76 points) and C.flavida Chang(74 points). The comprehensive score of some Camellia nitidissima C.W.Chi was low, such as C.euphlebia Merr.ex Seal.(69 points), C.parvipetala J.Y.Liang & Z.M.Su(67 points), C.ptilosperma S.Y.Liang et Q.D.Chen (64 points) and C.ptilosperma var.(62 points). The most suitable Camellia nitidissima C.W.Chi to be popularied were Camellia crysantha, C.fusuiensis S.Y.Liang et X.J.Dong and C.tunghinensis Chang, secondly C.impressinervis H.T.Chang et S.Y.Liang and C.flavida Chang. However, C.euphlebia Merr.ex Seal., C.parvipetala J.Y.Liang & Z.M.Su, C.ptilosperma S.Y.Liang et Q.D.Chen and C.ptilosperma var.need to be further domesticated and monitored.
