Abstract
To enrich the asexual propagation materials of Liriodendron sino-americanum, the phenotypic selection of ortets were performed by the comparison method of 5 dominant trees with growth traits (Height, diameter at breast height and volume) and form-quality traits (crown).Based on the statistical analysis of 30 candidate superior individuals and 150 dominant trees in 3 locations, the criteria of phenotypic selection on ortets of Liriodendron sino-americanum for the cutting propagation were determined: ① Height: Ortet ≥ 1.13 times of dominant tree, ② DBH: Ortet ≥ 1.34 times of dominant tree, ③ Volume: Ortet ≥ 1.84 times of dominant tree, and ④Crown height ratio was below 0.5000.Finally, 15 superior individuals were selected for cutting propagation, which could provide breeding materials for clonal breeding of Liriodendron sino-americanum.
