Abstract
At the age of 8,11,16,and 20 years in the plus tree progeny test stand of Fokienia hodginsii on Yong'an State-owned Forest Farm in Fujian Province, each tree was surveyed to analyze the genetic variation rules of growth of F. hodginsii plus trees and select superior families and individuals. The results showed that the genetic variation coefficient and heritability of tree height,DBH and volume showed a decreasing trend with the increase of stand age. At the age of 20 years, the average tree height,DBH,and volume of the tested forest could reach at 10. 65 m,16. 75 cm and 0. 12236 m3,respectively. The coefficient of variation and heritability values of tree height,DBH and volume all show a downward trend with the growth of forest age. At the age of 20 years, the coefficients of variation for tree height,DBH and volume were 2. 07%,3. 60% and 8. 79%,respectively. The broad sense heritability values were 0. 3109,0. 3990 and 0. 4729,while the narrow sense heritability values were 0. 1313,0. 1641 and 0. 2245,respectively. By calculating genetic gain and breeding values,8 excellent families and 59 excellent individuals were selected based on the performance of standard of individual standing timber volume. the average timber volume of the selected excellent families reached 0. 19952 m3,the average breeding value and genetic gain are 0. 01745 m3 and 12. 20%,respectively;the average timber volume of selected individual plant reached 0. 27709 m3,and average gain reached 20. 89%.
