Investigation and Analysis of Bamboo Germplasm Resources in Xiamen Botanical Garden

  • In 2021,the bamboo resources in the bamboo garden of Xiamen Botanical Garden were investigated and counted by means of literature review,field investigation and specimen collection. in order to find out the bamboo germplasm resources in the botanical garden and systematize the species names of bamboo in the garden. The reasons for the reduction of bamboo species by the garden were analyzed,and suggestions for the development of bamboo garden were put forward. The results showed that there were 125 species(including 12 varieties,15 variants and 5 varieties) of 25 genera bamboo plants in the botanical garden,of which the most species of Bambusa has 44 species,8 variants,4 variants and 2 varieties. The rhizome are mainly sympodium,accounting for 65. 6%,and the proportion of sympodial bamboo reaches 83%;bamboo with good growth account for 84%,and most of them are introduced from areas similar environmental conditions such as Xiamen climate. Systematize the species names of bamboo in the gardenand make suggestions for the development of bamboo plant areas.
