Abstract
The moth Hyphorma minax is a relevant pest of the tree Camellia oleifera,Liquidambar formosana and Vernicia fordii. In 2019—2022,a survey of the biological characters of H.minax was carried out by field testing around Ningde and Fuzhou,in the Fujian Province of China. In addition, experiments on the biocontrol of H.minax larvae in C.oleifera forest by Beauveria bassiana were performed.Result showed that in Fuzhou and Ningde,H.minax had two generation per year, with overwintering of prepupa in cocoon, the adult begins to emerge and in mid March of the following year. The first generation occurred from May to September, and the second (overwintering generation) occurred from August to June of the following year. The spore suspension of B.bassiana conidia at the concentration of 1.0×108 spores·mL-1 caused 81.3% to 85.0% mortality of S.testacea larvae in the field at 9 d after spraying, showed a good biocontrol efficacy from 79.7% to 83.8%.The results can provide a theoretical reference for the scientific control of H.minax larvae.
