Abstract:
To study the growth characteristics and adaptability of different
Acacia melanoxylon families, we conducted offspring assay tests on 48 families of
Acacia melanoxylon with good growth both domestically and internationally at Luoxi State-Owned Forest Farm from 2019 to 2021.Analysis of variance(ANOVA)and genetic parameter estimation of diameter breast-high(DBH), tree height, wood volume, and height to crown base(HCB)of three-year-old
Acacia melanoxylon families showed that there were significant differences among families. The heritability of tree height, DBH, and wood volume are 0.65, 0.54, and 0.38, respectively, and each trait was under moderate genetic control. From them, we selected five excellent families, and the average DBH, average tree height, and average wood volume of the families were 7.4 cm, 7.4 m, and 0.0191 m
3, respectively, which increased by 10.4%, 12.3% and 31.4%.The excellent
Acacia melanoxylon families showed good growth traits, had a high gain level, and could obtain high forest benefits, which provided a reference for the introduction of
Acacia melanoxylon in southeast Fujian.
