Abstract:
A comparative experiment on the afforestation of different varieties of
Cunninghamia lanceolata was carried out in Youxi State-owned Forest Farm in Fujian Province in 2017,and the growth performance of Clone "Minshan No. 1" and the 3rd generation improved variety of Chinese fir in the young age stage( Before the forest age of 7 years. ) was analyzed. The results showed that: at the forest age of 1 year, the growth trend of the clone of "Minshan No. 1" was equivalent to that of the 3rd generation improved variety, and there was no significant difference between them; at the forest age of 3 years, the tree height of the clone of "Minshan No. 1" was extremely significantly greater than that of the 3rd generation improved variety; at the forest age of 5 years, the diameter at breast height, tree height and individual tree volume of the clone of "Minshan No.1" were all extremely significantly greater than those of the third-generation improved variety; at the forest age of 7 years, the diameter at breast height and tree height of the clone of "Minshan No.1" were both extremely significantly greater than those of the 3rd generation improved variety, the individual standing tree volume was significantly greater than that of the 3rd generation improved variety, and the height-diameter ratio was the largest (reaching 81.59),and the stem form was the straightest and fullest. Overall, the improved clone variety of
Cunninghamia lanceolata "Minshan No.1" had better growth traits than the 3rd generation improved variety in the young stage.
