Abstract:
This study integrates field survey data and literary sources to systematically analyze plant composition and the composition, origin sources distribution, damage status, and control strategies of invasive plants on Putuoshan Island. The results indicated that there were 874 species of terrestrial vascular plants naturally distributed on Putuoshan Island, belonging to 124 families and 447 genera. Among these,43 species of alien invasive plants belonged to 21 families. The Asteraceae,Convolvulaceae and Poacea were the dominant families, with the majority originating from Tropical South America(32.56%) and North America(18.60%). The invasive plants were all herbaceous, including 5 climbing species. Among them, there were 32 species of annual or biennial herbs, and 11 species of perennial herbs. The most threatening alien invasive plants belonged to 5 families and 6 species, constituting 13.95% of the total. Notably,
Alternanthera philoxeroides,
Pontederia crassipes, etc.,were particularly dangerous. The spread of invasive plants on Putuoshan Island was closely associated with tourism development and logistics transportation, with more severe infestations in areas of frequent human activity. Therefore,Putuoshan Island urgently needs to establish a database for invasive plants, strengthen quarantine and monitoring, implement integrated pest control measures, restore native vegetation, and enhance public awareness.
