Abstract:
To accelerate the breeding process of precious native broad-leaved tree species,a growth survey was conducted on a 19 a grafted seed garden of
Manglietia yuyuanensis at the Weimin State-Owned Forest Farm in Shaowu,Fujian Province. The results showed that: the 114 tested clones exhibited extremely significant differences(
P< 0. 05) in tree height, diameter at breast height (DBH),and single-tree volume. All traits except crown width exhibited moderate heritability levels, indicating substantial genetic control. Using cluster analysis integrated with major growth traits, seven elite clones were selected. Compared with the whole population, the genetic gains of tree height, diameter at breast height and timber volume were 7. 24%,7. 58% and 25. 69%. The performance stability of each elite clone still requires further observation. Especially,SW-020 and SW-002,as individuals with extremely outstanding performance, require focused verification. Their suitable promotion areas must be investigated through extensive regionalized cultivation trials in subsequent studies.
