Abstract:
This study focuses on the ancient and famous trees in rural areas of Fuzhou City.Based on the investigation of their resource distribution,species composition,age structure,and growth status across different counties(districts),spatial analysis was conducted using the kernel density method in ArcGIS software.The results indicate that there are 8574 ancient and famous trees in rural areas of Fuzhou,belonging to 111 species,74 genera and 39 families.Five families,including Pinaceae,Moraceae and Lauraceae dominate,accounting for a relatively large proportion(88.79%).Six species such as
Ficus microcarpa,
Cinnamomum camphora and
Keteleeria fortunei are the dominant tree species,accounting for 84.27% of the total.Among them,there are 619 plants belonging to 11 species of national key protected wild plants,among which
Taxus chinensis var.
mairei is the most numerous,with a total of 271 plants(3.16%).The tree age presents a pyramid structure,including 228 first-class ancient trees(2.66%),816 second-class ancient trees(9.52%),7526 third-class ancient trees(87.78%)and 4 famous trees(0.04%).The spatial distribution shows a significant pattern of "dense in the west and sparse in the east",with obvious high-density agglomeration areas centered on Yongtai,Minhou and Minqing counties.These three counties are located in mountainous areas,and the number of ancient trees accounts for 71.05%,which is significantly more than that in coastal areas.The overall growth status of ancient and famous trees in rural areas of Fuzhou is good,with normal plants accounting for 96.93%,but the number of declining or endangered ancient trees in Mawei District and Fuqing City is significantly higher than that in other counties(cities)and districts.
